The way to Bhutan: Travel by Land or Travel by Air.
There are only two modes of transport system to get into Bhutan. One can either use flight or road to reach Bhutan. Following Airports has direct connection to Bhutan(Paro Airport):

  • Bangkok
  • Nepal
  • Singapore and India(Delhi, Kolkatta, Bagdogra, Gaya, Guwahati, Mumbai).
  • All visitors to Bhutan require a visa to enter the country. Visa clearance must be obtained before coming to Bhutan and travel must be booked through a Bhutanese tour operator or international partner. Indian, Bangladeshis and Maldivian nationals can receive a visa on entry and it is not necessary for them to book travel through a tour operator, however it is recommended. In the case of Indian nationals a passport or voters card are acceptable on entry.

    1. Ensure your passport has validity of minimum 6 months before departure from home country.
    2. Carry all the medicines from your home country as you can’t find the medicine of same brand in Bhutan.
    3. Carry Umbrella, Hat, Sun glasses, Sunscreens and at least a long pant and full sleeve shirt. If you wear half    pant and shirt, you’ll be restricted to enter inside Fortress/Dzongs.
    4. If you are carrying any tobacco products, please declare and pay 100% tax with custom office at Paro Airport.     Selling and buying of tobacco products is punishable under the existing Law of Kingdom of Bhutan. However     you can smoke in only designated area.

    Located between India and China with a population of just over 700,000 spread over 38,394 kmsq is the Kingdom of Bhutan.
